Record-setting Powerball lottery prize swells to an estimated $950 million in anticipation of the upcoming drawing.

The Powerball jackpot, currently standing at a staggering $950 million, has yet to be won in the latest drawing on Wednesday night. Despite the odds being stacked against players, with a chance of winning the jackpot at 1 in 292.2 million, according to the lottery, hopefuls across the United States and its territories continued to buy tickets.

The numbers drawn on Wednesday were 9, 12, 22, 41, 61, and a Powerball of 25. Although no one managed to match all six numbers and claim the jackpot, three lucky tickets won $1 million each. These winning tickets were sold in Arizona, New York, and Virginia.

Six tickets also matched all five white balls drawn, earning their owners prizes worth $1 million or more. Three other tickets, which were sold in Mississippi, Ohio, and Virginia, won $2 million each, thanks to the Power Play feature.

The Powerball lottery is a popular game, sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot has been rolling over since May 31, when a lucky player from California claimed the prize. Saturday's drawing will be the 39th since then.

If a player manages to win the jackpot in the upcoming drawing, they will have the choice of receiving the full prize amount in 29 annual payments or a lump sum payment estimated at $428.9 million.

The $950 million jackpot is the biggest advertised prize in more than a year and is the sixth largest in the lottery's history. Despite the lack of a jackpot winner in recent draws, including the one on Saturday, December 13, the excitement around the Powerball lottery remains high.

Tickets for the Powerball lottery cost $2 per play. The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer, don't forget to get your tickets and keep those dreams of a life-changing win alive!
