Nanolumens and Capital Signs Unveil Stunning LED Tower at Assembly Atlanta
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Nanolumens and Capital Signs have completed a unique and impressive project at Assembly Atlanta. The final result has surpassed the customer's expectations, showcasing the companies' expertise in creating one-of-a-kind LED displays.
The centrepiece of the project is a 136-foot-tall LED tower, one of the most distinctive projects that Nanolumens and Capital Signs have worked on together. The tower, approximately 22 feet wide, stands tall at Assembly Atlanta's main entrance, making it a striking addition to the city's skyline.
Nanolumens, a Norcross-based LED manufacturer, was instrumental in designing and manufacturing the LED wall at the entrance facade. The tower is a 140-foot-tall freestanding LED structure, making it the largest of its kind in North America.
The LED tower incorporates two different pixel pitches that change as you move upward, adding an extra layer of visual interest. To withstand the environmental forces and accommodate wind from all directions, the display on the side of the tower was designed to flex appropriately. This required a significant level of flexibility, as the tower needed to be more flexible than traditional buildings.
Nanolumens was also crucial in developing a custom mounting solution that integrated seamlessly with the tower's design. The LED tower is housed within a distinctive, egg-shaped metal shell that wraps around the triangular structure.
Capital Signs managed the installation of the LED tower at Assembly Atlanta and contributed to the surrounding architectural elements. The partnership between Nanolumens and Capital Signs dates back to around 2015, and together they have collaborated on numerous complex, one-of-a-kind projects in Atlanta, including the Atlanta Airport and downtown Atlanta.
To provide the customer with full control over scheduling and maintaining content, a content management system from Acquire Digital was integrated. This system ensures that the display can be updated with dynamic and user-friendly content, enhancing the overall experience for visitors to Assembly Atlanta.
The level of custom engineering required for the LED tower was substantial and it's difficult to imagine many other LED manufacturers being capable of handling such a project. The engineers at Nanolumens worked closely to determine an acceptable deflection rate and developed a display and mounting system capable of accommodating it.
The project at Assembly Atlanta has been a resounding success, with the customer expressing extreme pleasure with both Capital Signs and Nanolumens' work. This collaboration serves as a testament to the companies' dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in LED technology and design.
